About the Client – Olive & Piper Jewelry Brand
Olive & Piper is a women-founded jewelry brand based in Vancouver, known for creating designs that bring joy to both special occasions and everyday moments. Their timeless, versatile pieces are made to suit every style – from daily wear to social events and weddings. With a growing team and expanding product line, Olive & Piper needed a headquarters that would reflect their brand ethos and inspire creativity. The new office presented an opportunity to infuse the company’s playful yet timeless aesthetic into a functional workspace for the staff.

Design Goals and Challenges
When our client approached us, their new office space was dated and uninspiring, lacking the character and warmth that such a creative brand deserved. The challenge was to execute a thoughtful interior refresh that embodied Olive & Piper’s playful elegance while catering to various functional needs. We needed to design multiple distinct zones – including areas for collaboration, meetings, product display, and daily operations – making sure each zone felt unique yet visually connected. Our goal was to create a cohesive, brand-aligned office interior where the jewelry products could shine and the team could feel energized and at home.

Design Concept & Solutions
Brand-Inspired Lighting: To establish a direct visual connection to the Olive & Piper brand, we introduced playful, custom lighting fixtures inspired by jewelry forms. These bespoke lights serve as sparkling focal points throughout the office, echoing shapes of gems and pendants. The custom lighting design not only adds a whimsical touch but also reinforces brand identity – much like jewelry pieces, the lighting elements are eye-catching and elegant.
Soft Curves and Elegant Touches: We incorporated soft curves in the furniture and millwork, moving away from the rigid lines of the old office. Arched forms and rounded edges – from reception counters to seating – create a sense of flow and approachability. Along with the curved forms, ambient mood lighting was added to wash the interior with a gentle, warm glow. This layered lighting approach (combining overhead illumination with indirect accent lights) adds warmth, personality, and a sense of modern elegance throughout the space. The result is an inviting atmosphere that feels both cozy and sophisticated, aligning with Olive & Piper’s brand character.
Distinct Zones with Cohesive Design: Given the office’s multiple functions, we designed several distinct areas – such as open plan workstations, a showroom/display area for jewelry, meeting rooms, and casual lounge nooks. Each zone was given a unique look or feature to suit its purpose (for example, a more vibrant collaboration corner versus a serene meeting room). Yet, all areas remain visually connected through a harmonious design language. We achieved this cohesion by repeating key design elements: a consistent color palette, shared materials, and the jewelry-inspired motifs. Subtle and intentional use of color was crucial – we opted for soft neutrals and refined pops of Olive & Piper’s signature hues, applied sparingly. This approach ensures the client’s jewelry collections can take center stage against an elegant but not overpowering backdrop. The overall environment feels polished and unified, so moving from one zone to another is a seamless visual experience.

Final Results – A Playful & Polished Headquarters
The newly reimagined Olive & Piper HQ is a vibrant yet refined workspace that truly reflects the brand’s identity. What was once a dull, dated office is now a delightful setting where modern office design meets the sparkle of a jewelry boutique. Each corner of the headquarters tells part of the Olive & Piper story – from the jewelry-inspired light fixtures that draw the eye, to the gentle curves in the furniture that add a friendly, human touch. The subtle color palette and warm lighting create an inviting ambiance, allowing the brand’s products and creative energy to shine.
By balancing playful design elements with functional needs, we delivered a headquarters that supports both the team’s productivity and the brand’s vision. This commercial interior design project in Vancouver demonstrates how a thoughtful, cohesive design can transform an office space into a compelling brand experience.
